LESSONS
Lessons teach basic riding and horsemanship skills, from just starting out through advanced jumping. Our school horses are well trained and friendly while being gentle enough for a brand new rider and athletic enough for more advanced riders. In all lessons, riders are expected to do the following:
- groom and tack up their horse
- cool down, groom, and put away their horse after riding
- clean their horse's paddock
- ensure their horse has a clean and full water trough
- sweep barn aisle and put away all equipment
- clean and oil bridles and saddles
- $450 per month for once weekly school horse lessons
- $750 per month for twice weekly school horse lessons
LEASING
Many of our lesson horses are available for half lease. A half lease gives a rider access to their horse three times a week. These can be split between lessons and free rides, with a minimum of one lesson per week. Leasing also gives a rider priority for taking their horse to horse shows. This is a great way to ease into horse ownership at a fixed rate per month. Please note that I will only allow my leased horses to jump up to 2'6". Horses are priced differently due to each individual's athletic ability, quality and medical needs. Please inquire as to specific horse availability.
Price is all-inclusive per month, No additional fees for vet, farrier, lessons, board, etc.

SHOWING
As riders advance, they often wish to go to horse shows. These opportunities are exciting for students as they get to show off their skills, build friendships with other riders, and compete for year end awards. We primarily show at the Lake Washington Saddle Club's summer show series in Kirkland, WA. We will occasionally show at A-Circuit shows as well and these can be discussed further in person. While many riders from our farm attend horse shows, it is not a requirement and there is no pressure to compete if you do not wish to do so.
Show expectations and costs will be fully disclosed upfront and an itemized show bill emailed on the last day of the show. For ballpark figures, expect $600-700 all-in (all show fees and trainer fees) for a weekend at LWSC and $1500-2500 all-in for a week at a rated show.
Riders in 4th-12th grade may compete as part of our Interscholastic Equestrian Team as well!

EXTRACURRICULAR TRIPS
Throughout the year, we go on several day trips. These trips are available for all riders who own or lease their own horse to participate in on a first come, first served basis. Trips may include riding on the beach, cross country jumping, mountain trail rides, foxhunting, and urban trail rides. These trips will broaden your horse's experiences and are a fantastic way to get out of the ring and enjoy the PNW!
